Fall time

When Suzanne was here for Thanksgiving weekend, she and I were talking about the blogs some friends and family had started. We decided to create a BLOG for me. So I will try it. My goal is to post once a month, to let you know what we've been doing for the month.

So here's November, some October and September...

Back to school
I have 4 kids in 4 schools. That is 4 back-to-school nights, 4 parent-teacher conferences, 4 buses coming to pick up kids, 4 lunches to make, 4 homework checks each night, 4 kids saying it's my turn to use the computer. Back to school is also back to early morning seminary. Brandon is up at 5:30am!

Nate started Kindergarten. He is in the afternoon class. He is learning the sounds of letters and likes to try to sound out words. He has a good teacher and likes school!

Brandon's Homecoming Dance and first Date
In September, Brandon asked a girl named Analissa to the High School Homecoming Dance. They went to dinner at a restaurant with 6 other friends. Then they met a big group of kids at a house to take group pictures, then went to the dance. He said it was so much fun. Brandon drove to pick up his date (with Steve sitting in the back - Brandon only has a learner's permit) Most of the others are in the same situation so they made arrangements for parents to help drive. Steve and I picked up 4 of them at the restaurant and took them to the house for pictures. He has a fun group of kids for his friends.

A FUN visit with Mom and Dad Scadden
We love having friends and family come visit. It is very special when it's grandparents! They came for a couple of days at the end of October.

Halloween
Amanda was a chef, Lauren a princess, and Nate was Darth Vader. Boooooo!

Brandon - High School Basketball team
November brings basketball practices and games. Brandon is on the sophomore team.

Amanda GS Lego robotics team
Amanda's Girl Scout troop sign up as a robotics team to compete in the Lego Robotics League. They were given some legos and have made a little robot. They meet biweekly to program it so it will complete the missions at the competition that is coming up. The troop is also working on a badge about jobs for women and talking with people about owning their own businesses. One of them is we are going to a Pampered Chef party so the girls can learn about a party business. Amanda is also in 8th grade honor society and art club.

Lauren gets an email address
Lauren is very excited to have 3 friends at school to email. You can also send her a note too. She also likes to play Webkinz on the computer. She and her friends get together to play American Girl dolls and Little Pet Shops. She also has started taking clarinet lessons at school.

Nate turns 6
Nate had a birthday in November. He had 2 friends come over to play, eat dinner and cake, then we took them miniature golfing with our family. He also learned to ride his bike with out the training wheels. He likes to ride with the big kids around the block and around the pond.

Happy Thanksgiving!
When we went around the table at Thanksgiving to say what we are thankful for, we had many answers. Steve and I are very thankful for all the blessing we have. We love our friends and family, our home, job, children, the church and the gospel, temples, computer games, and gameboy DS. Thank you Suzanne and Matt for driving out to be with us!

Up Next...
Merry Christmas! Time to put up the tree and hang lights outside. Did anyone go shopping early on the day after thanksgiving?
